After 10+ Years of Razor Bumps, 2,384+ Men Finally Found Something That Works

Here's what they said...

ok so ive been dealing with this sh*t since my late 20s and im talking YEARS of trying everything. literally everything. gillette fusion? made it worse. mach 3? worse. bought a braun series 7 electric for like £150 thinking that would solve it - nope just left stubble and my wife still hated it. tried magic shave powder from the shop, that stuff BURNED like actual fire and smelled awful.

then i got into the whole reddit wet shaving thing right, spent hours reading about safety razors and grain mapping and all that. bought a DE razor, fancy shaving soap, even drew on my face with a dry erase marker to map my grain (looked mental doing that lol). helped a tiny bit but my lower neck where the hair swirls? still looked like pizza.

had a job interview coming up for a senior position and i just could not show up looking like i had some kind of disease you know? thats what it looks like to normal people - not a bad shave but like a skin condition.

saw an ad for rhoms, was super skeptical because ive fallen for the "revolutionary" marketing bs before. but the ad had guys talking about the exact same problems so i thought whatever one more try.

first time using it - feels cooling when you put it on, kind of soothing actually. within a week i noticed i could shave closer without the bumps coming back. by week 2 my neck looked actually respectable.

its not perfect - i still get a bump here and there if i go against the grain like an idiot. but "manageable" is SO much better than "cursed"

ended up getting their razor and shaving cream too since the whole system is designed to work together. wish id done that from the start honestly.

cons:
- bottle is smaller than id like, goes quick if you use it every day
- it sells out alot and i check the site like every week to make sure i can get more because i never want to run out

if youve been dealing with this for years and nothing has worked this is worth it. just dont expect miracles overnight but youll see improvement pretty quick.

How long did it take you to see results? I'm on week 1 and seeing improvement already.

 ↳ Reply from Marcus T.
Yeah week 1-2 is when you'll notice it. Keep using it consistently.

For military personnel, you'll understand this immediately: shaving waivers are technically legitimate medical accommodations, but in practice they're career killers. I spent 7 years avoiding one because I've seen Black airmen get them and then mysteriously get passed over for promotions. The "grated bleeding neck" was somehow more "professional" than stubble, which is insane when you think about it.

Tried everything the base dermatologist prescribed - none of it worked long-term. The barber on base (also Black, understood the curly hair issue) gave me tips but even those only helped marginally. Tried every product at Boots. Nothing lasted.

Another airman told me about Rhoms. He'd been using it 6 months and his neck cleared up. I was skeptical but ordered anyway.

Within a week and a half I could shave in the morning without angry red bumps by lunch. The roll-on design is perfect for targeting problem areas (lower neck, right side where my hair growth pattern is awkward).

I also picked up their razor after reading it was designed specifically for preventing bumps - works way better than the cartridge razors I was using. The whole system makes sense when you use it together.

Still have to shave carefully - no rushing, with the grain, sharp blade - but I can now shave daily without looking diseased.

I don't need a waiver anymore. Worth more than £30 to me.

For military: yes it works for Black skin. Yes it works with curly facial hair. Worth trying before the waiver route.

Started with just solution, worked great. Got razor after and even better. Recommend getting both.

gonna be real with you - razor bumps killed my relationship confidence for YEARS

my girlfriend hated my stubble, said it felt like 40 grit sandpaper on her face (those were her exact words). scratchy, painful, shed wake up with her face red. so shed ask me to shave.

but when i shaved?? within a day id have bumps all over my neck. red, inflamed, sometimes whiteheads. she felt bad asking me to shave but then the stubble would grow back and wed be back to square one.

i felt like my stupid neck was wrecking everything.

tried every razor (cartridge safety straight electric). tried every cream at tesco. tried tend skin - worked ok but smelled AWFUL and stopped working. tried growing it longer so it got soft but she didnt like how it looked.

nothing solved both problems. either sandpaper or bumps.

found rhoms through an ad showing a guy with the same relationship issue. figured nothing to lose.

after a week - noticeably fewer bumps. after 10 days i could shave in the morning and by evening my face was smooth enough she didnt complain. not baby smooth (im 48 my stubble grows fast) but smooth enough it wasnt painful for her.

the bumps that used to show up day after shaving? mostly gone. still get one or two if im not careful but its manageable now.

things to know:
- roll on is easy to use, just swipe it on problem areas
- has a slight cooling feeling when you apply it which is actually nice
- i use it after every shave takes maybe 10 seconds
- bottle lasts 5-6 weeks wish it was bigger for the price

honestly just for the relationship peace alone its worth every penny. i can finally shave regularly without looking like a teenager with acne or feeling like a weapon

26 years of being cocoa lol. if youre a black man reading this you already KNOW the struggle. curly facial hair + shaving = disaster. its not about bad technique or wrong razor its STRUCTURAL. our hair curls back into the skin. thats just how it is.

been dealing with bumps since my 20s. every dermatologist ive seen tells me "try not to shave" - great advice doc except i have a job where showing up with a beard isnt an option???

tried every bump fighter product marketed to us (most dont work). tried magic shave depilatories (burned worse than the bumps). tried growing it out and keeping it trimmed (still got bumps). electrics left stubble, still got bumps. safety razors with the whole wet shaving ritual helped a bit but not enough.

MY BARBER told me about rhoms. said 3 of his regulars were using it and it worked. i trust my barber more than my dermatologist when it comes to this - he sees black mens faces EVERY DAY. he knows what works.

first week noticed the existing bumps starting to clear. second week shaved and didnt get the usual crop of new bumps the next day. by week 2-3 my neck looked the best it had in 26 YEARS.

got their shaving cream after that too - apparently the whole range is made to work together for guys with our hair type. makes sense and works better than mixing random products.

real talk:
- not a miracle cure. still get a bump here and there especially if i go against the grain
- you gotta use it consistently. i use it every time after shaving sometimes between shaves on problem areas
- roll on makes it easy to target exactly where you need it
- feels cool when you put it on, kinda refreshing actually

£30 feels steep at first but when you calculate what ive spent over years on products that didnt work its nothing. bottle lasts about 5 weeks.

only annoying part - it sells out sometimes. i check the website every week and stock up when its available because i NEVER want to run out and go back to pizza neck.

for black men specifically: yes this works for us. yes it works with curly hair. yes its worth trying before you give up or get a shaving waiver.

wish id found this 20 years ago man

giving this 4 stars not 5 because I want to be honest about expectations. this works but you need to use it properly.

background: had razor bumps on/off since early 30s. not every day but enough that I couldnt reliably shave for important events without worrying my neck would look terrible. tried gillette cartridges (worse), tend skin (smell was unbearable + eventually stopped working), just using a trimmer (still got bumps plus stubble).

ordered rhoms after seeing ads for weeks. figured if theyre spending that much on ads maybe it works.

TIMELINE:
week 1 - started seeing some improvement
week 2 - definitely better, bumps clearing up noticeably

PROS:
+ roll on design is way better than liquid/cream, you can target exactly where the problem is
+ doesnt smell awful (unlike tend skin = rotten milk)
+ actually works and keeps working

CONS:
- bottle is a bit small. one every 5 weeks
- wish they sold bigger sizes

BOTTOM LINE: this actually works. i'm on my 3rd bottle now and won't go back to anything else.

for me "manageable" is huge after years of "uncontrollable".

worth trying if youve exhausted other options.

tried tend skin bump patrol even made my own aspirin/alcohol mix from reddit

tend skin smelled like rotten milk stopped working after 6 months. bump patrol did nothing. DIY aspirin thing worked ok but was messy and inconsistent batch to batch

rhoms works - roll on gets it exactly where you need it. no mess no smell keeps working. been using 8 months still effective.

thats it. it works. £30 every 6 weeks. done.

black with thick curly facial hair = worst demographic for razor bumps

YES this works

most products designed for straight hair that doesnt curl back into skin. this actually addresses the problem of ingrowns trying to form. use it after every shave especially lower neck where my hair swirls. 6 months now only thing thats consistently worked.

TIP: you still gotta shave properly. map your grain dont go against it use sharp blade. i ended up getting their razor too which is designed for curly hair - whole system works better together.

works for us. try it.

Wet shaving enthusiast here. DE razor, grain mapping, proper lather, whole ritual. Even with PERFECT technique still got bumps on lower neck where hair grows in weird directions.

Rhoms perfect as aftershave for guys like us. Use it right after rinse. Roll-on targets just problem areas without covering whole face.

Eventually got their whole range - razor, cream, and smoothing solution. Makes sense that its all designed to work together. Way better than piecing together random products from different brands.

Think of it: proper razor + proper prep + proper aftercare = no bumps

Game changer for me was:
- Proper grain mapping (took pic of my face with flash to see growth patterns)
- Rhoms razor (designed specifically for preventing bumps)
- Rhoms smoothing solution on problem zones after

Lower neck finally cleared after 8 years of trying everything else

bottle lasts 5-6 weeks shaving 4-5 times per week. £30 feels steep.

but do this math:

past 10 years ive spent:
- gillette cartridges: £20-30 every 2 months = ~£1500
- tend skin: £15 a bottle x 20 bottles = £300
- bump patrol: £12 x 10 = £120
- electric razors: £80-150 each x 3 = ~£400
- various creams lotions: £10-20 each x probably 15 = £200

TOTAL: ~£2500 over 10 years on stuff that DIDNT WORK

rhoms: £30 every 6 weeks

That's £5 a week for something that actually works? less than a pint at pub. worth it to not look diseased at work.

only annoying part - sells out sometimes. when in stock i buy 2-3 bottles so i dont run out.

also got their razor which was another £25 but honestly if youre buying the solution might as well get the razor too since theyre made to work together.

they have 30 day money back guarantee. didnt need it but its there

my advice: use it properly for 1-2 weeks and youll see improvement. i saw results within the first week which was way faster than other stuff ive tried.

dont expect perfect skin. youll still get occasional bump if you mess up shave. but its MANAGEABLE now vs uncontrollable before.

been using 4 months. lower neck looks better than it has in 15 years. wife can kiss me without complaining about sandpaper face. thats worth £30 to me.

been using for 3 months now. started with just the smoothing solution which worked great but then got their razor and shaving cream too.

the difference when you use the whole system together is night and day. apparently theyre all designed to work as one system for preventing bumps - the razor doesnt cut below the skin, the cream prepares your skin properly, and the solution handles any irritation after.

makes way more sense than what i was doing before (random cartridge razor from boots + whatever shaving gel was on sale + hoping for the best).

neck looks the best its looked in probably 15 years. no more pizza face.

worth getting the full system if you can.

curly beard hair, sensitive skin, been fighting this battle for ages.

smoothing solution works on its own but when i added their shaving cream it got even better. apparently the cream has stuff in it that works with the solution to prevent bumps before they even start.

wish id known about the full range from the beginning. would have saved me some trial and error.

if youre gonna try this just get the razor and cream too. theyre all made to work together and its not that much more expensive when you think about what youve probably already wasted on stuff that didnt work.

did the trimmer thing for 5 years to avoid shaving. avoided worst bumps but still got some + always looked scruffy. couldnt do it for job interviews or formal events.

rhoms lets you actually shave clean when you need to. still use trimmer most days (old habits) but now when i need to shave for something important i can without neck looking like aero chocolate next day.

use it even on trimmer days on problem areas (lower neck jawline). keeps bumps from forming.

lifesaver for professional situations
